About

I am a graduate of the Clemson University School of Architecture and licensed as an Architect in the State of Maryland. After graduation I worked for several area architectural firms including a land planning practice and a residential design-build architectural office. My experience in these years covered multi-family, commercial and institutional projects as well as residential. I founded my own firm in 1980, specializing in residential projects, additions and alterations and new homes, especially projects that have universal design or disability requirements.

My Office

In 1986 I moved my office to a rural setting in Glenelg, Maryland. The office building is a converted 19th century vernacular Greek Revival farm building which I saved from the wrecking ball, dismantled, then re-erected on its present site, adjacent to my home, and renovated into my studio. This project was the continuation of my involvement in green architecture and sustainable design.

Testimonial

"We had a concept and Andre not only enhanced it, but conceptualized an addition to our home that gave us more than we had ever thought was possible. We now feel that our home is not only for day to day living, but serves as our vacation home and will be suitable as a retirement home in 10 years." Edward D.

Your Project

There are no preconceived notions or standardized solutions. Each project represents a unique challenge in which the client's ideas are solicited, encouraged, developed and incorporated into the design solution along with the special characteristics of the site and the environment. I pride myself on sensitive design and imaginative problem-solving within realistic budgetary constraints and the technical capabilities of the small scale building industry.

Interior Design services are also available in house. I also have established relationships with outside consultants proficient in Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Landscaping and other specialty services necessary for a unified project.

I am available for an in office interview providing for a discussion of needed services and the related fees. This is also an opportune time to look over my portfolio of other successfully completed projects. References are available upon request.

I also provide in home hourly consultations for additions and alterations where we often review several alternatives that you may not have considered and may quickly sketch up a few solutions for your consideration.

New home site assessments are also available where I provide an analysis of a property's advantages and weaknesses for a particular house you are considering building. Some times this encompasses the examination of several sites that are under consideration.

All of the projects featured on this site were realized by utilizing the full scope of my services. How can I help you?
